With a new justice coming to the U.S. Supreme Court and a conservative majority likely taking hold for the first time since the Great Depression, there is no doubt that very interesting times lay ahead for the nation’s highest bench. This program will present Supreme Court experts with a wide array of perspectives talking about the cases to be heard in the 2018 term, what doctrines may draw the Court’s attention, and how the change in personnel will change the Court -- and American life.
Next year, the Court is already planning to hear cases on the strength of arbitration clauses, when copyrights come into existence, whether mentally ill convicts can be executed, and whether criminal defendants can be prosecuted separately in state and federal court for the same act. Come learn about these cases and much, much more.
