The MeToo movement has encouraged many victims of sexual assault or abuse to come forward but litigating these cases requires unique considerations. This CLE will focus on how to bring a civil lawsuit on behalf of men, women, and children who survived assault, abuse, or rape. We will discuss how to work
with the District Attorney’s office during and following the criminal prosecution of the abuser, who to file a civil lawsuit against, when to file the lawsuit, and what causes of action to consider. This panel will be especially useful for plaintiff-side lawyers who represent victims of sexual abuse or other lawyers interested in seeking justice for victims of sexual abuse.
